About Me

"I'm not a Smith, I'm a slegend."

— Connor Smith

My Life

Canada was forever changed on February 20th, 1998. Not because Canada's Olympic men's hockey team lost in the bronze medal game that day, but because I made my debut in the game we call life.

The city I was drafted into is Fredericton, New Brunswick. Both sides of my family originate in this province, but my time here was short lived. With a military father, I would find myself spending time in Petawawa ON, Ottawa ON, St. Albert AB, and back to Ottawa, where I currently attend the University of Ottawa. As a 4th year marketing student, I love to explore various ways of reaching and engaging with audiences, especially in a digital sense.

When I'm not watching sports, I enjoy listening to music, watching classic movies, and enjoying the (briefly) lovely Canadian weather.

         My Sports Life

My first encounter with the world of sports came when I laced up my first pair of skates and picked up my first hockey stick at the age of 5. In no time, I found myself quickly learning Canada's favourite pastime, and I fell in love with the game and playing it. I continued to play hockey all the way until the end of high school. During my childhood, I also played soccer, softball and football, but hockey was always my favourite to play.

With the love of playing the game came the love of watching the game as well. I always idolized the hometown Ottawa Senators, and can still remember how excited their trip to the Stanley Cup Finals had me in 2007. Five years later, I thought to myself "What's better than following one sport? Following four sports!", thus started my discovery of the excitement and intrigue of the NFL, MLB and NBA, to join with my love for the NHL. The years since then have continued to provide me with endless entertainment that lasts 365 days a year. As a loyal fan of the Senators, Buffalo Bills, Toronto Blue Jays and Toronto Raptors, I have seen many ups and downs, and the heartache finally paid off in June 2019, when the Raptors claimed their first NBA title, and was the first championship I ever got to celebrate.

My love for sports has presented me with an opportunity to share the love and excitement with the world, and I will enjoy the growth of this website as it provides you with the most unique, interesting and entertaining lists that you have ever laid your eyes upon.
